In the evening we headed out for dinner. Laos is quite different to Thailand in culinary terms. The food is really westernised and has a French influence so there's loads of bread options whereas in Thailand we struggled to find bread. If you're looking for good Laosian food, steer clear of the pubs/big restaurants - they all serve the same westernised dishes (but do great sandwiches). If you wander into the side streets off the main roads, there's loads of small Laosian places which serve proper food. Anyway, we attracted to"Oh La La" as they offer a free whiskey sand bucket with every two meals purchased.
We then headed to Viva Bar for the free tuk tuk service to the jungle party. There was an entrance fee of 30,000LKP and drinks were around 20,000LKP but were so strong. To our disappointment it wasn't in the actual jungle, but more like in an open space with a bar and a bamboo dj booth. It was kinda like having a party in the Laosian country side rather than jungle. However, the music was surprisingly good (Anders would approve) and we had a really good night. Tiger managed to party with a lady boy - one to tick off the bucket list. We ended up being the last ones to leave, so headed back around 4.30-5ish for a drunken sandwhich stop.
