Arriving in Luang Prabang - Laos

So after little sleep on our 14hr bus journey we arrived in Luang Prabang. It was 7am, chucking down with rain and my mood could be politely described as horrible. We shared a tuk tuk into town for 20,000LKP (the currency is fucked up here) and checked into our guesthouse Mekong Moon Inn. Lydia and Savannah hadn't booked accomadation but they paid 100,000LKP per night at the hotel next to us. We'd struggled to find a decent guesthouse for a decent price online, everything seemed really expensive compared to Thailand. We were paying £11(150,000LKP) a night for this place, which was very average, whereas in Thailand, £11 a night would get you into a decent 3* hotel.

We wandered off into the town to get some much needed grub with Lydia and Savannah and ended up in an expensive coffee house called The Acient Bakery. In Luang Prabang (and all over Laos) music is played across the town on over head speakers from 6-12 and 2-4 on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. With our lack of sleep, we weren't all for Laos culture so headed back and crashed out.

It was the worst weather in Luang Prabang - cold, rain and thunder so Tiger and I stayed in bed until 8pm. We ventured out into the rain and found a tiny family owned restaurant where we had the yummiest noodle soup for 15,000LKP. The night market was kinda open so we did a bit of light shopping and headed back.
