Day 4, Eagle Track, Chiang Mai - Thailand

Today we were zonked. The elephants had wiped us out completely. However, back in England, people had advised us to check out zip wiring courses in Chiang Mai so we had ourselves booked into "Eagle Track" with a pick up time of 8am. All these early starts were killing meeee.

We chose the silver package which included around 20 platforms, abseiling and zip wires. It's definitely something I'd recommend since it's not every day you get the zip wire over the jungle. The abseiling wasn't exactly abseiling down a rock face, but more like being held 40m high and free falling down (yes I think I may have wet myself). But in all, it was a really good start to the day. The staff were really friendly and made everyone feel comfortable and safe. The cost, 1600TB, included an all you can eat buffet of noodles, rice, green Thai curry, stir fry.

After Eagle Track, we rested up at the cafe opposite "Your House". It's ran by the people who run out hotel and is the perfect place to sit when the suns out. If you're feeling peckish, the club sandwich is really good and is quite comforting when your diet only consists of Asian food.

We wanted to head further North, to a place called Pai. Transport was easy to find and cheaper if we went through a travel agency rather than through our hotel. We paid 180TB each for the 3hr mini bus journey that left the next day.

As this was our last night in Chiang Mai, we needed to pack for our 9am pick up for Pai.  We met up for dinner with this guy called Andy, Tigers mums friend. He took us a 5 minute walk up North to this lovely restaurant called Blue Diamond. It's a cute place with cheap food and amazing desserts (avocado and ginger muffin, passion fruit cheese cakes, mocha cake...) It was really nice meeting him, he gave us loads of recommendations in Pai and brought us dinner. I tried the local dish called Kow Soi which was a bit like a Thai coconut curry with chicken, rice noodles and fried noodles on top.
