Arriving in Bangkok - Thailand

We arrived in Bangkok after a 18hr flight at 7.30 am. By now Tiger and I were both running on low energy after being up nearly 24 hours. We had no clue where we were going and what the deal was with visas.

Getting the one month visas was an interesting and disgusting experience to say the least and included standing in a long winded queue for about an hour and a half.

Out of the airport and we both stand around like lemons trying to figure out what to do next. Heading to the hotel seemed like the best idea but we had no clue how far away we were and what the best option was to get there. In the end we caught the sky train for 49TB (£1) which took us to the closest station from Kohsan Road. Make use of the sky train, you get around Bangkok quickly and efficiently as it pretty much flies over the city so it's good if you don't want to be hassled with traffic and tuk tuks.

This is the first time I've ever travelled out of Europe and the taxi ride was immense. Cars cut each other up while tuk tuks beep viciously at darting scooters. It was scary but great.
